Using Caterpillar GIS-Approved API Testing Tools

The following API testing tools are GIS-approved for use by Caterpillar developers:

  • SoapUI by SmartBear
  • Postman
    • Free version available
    • Available for download at: https://www.postman.com
    • local mode only, no cloud syncing.  2 Options available:
      • Using version 9.8.x, work locally using the “Scratch Pad” option available from “Settings” menu (image below).   
      • Have your team members agree to not log into the app at any point.
